Cockburn Creme Cement is an AS3972 Type GP binder that sets cream rather than grey, in 20kg and 40kg bags plus bulker bags. It does everything grey general purpose cement does and carries the same classification — what changes is that renders, screeds and mortars come out off-white without buying and measuring white oxide.

Cream and off-white renders
The main reason people buy it. A cream render reads warmer than a grey one and needs no pigment to get there.
Floor screeds
Where the screed is going to be seen, or polished, and grey would read too dark under the finish.

Buy a render job's cement in one order if you can. Tone is the one thing on a cream finish that people notice from the footpath, and it is the thing most likely to move between orders.

Open seven days at 222 Barrington St, Bibra Lake. The loader puts it straight into your trailer or ute, and someone will tell you whether what you have brought will carry the load.

Using Creme Cement
How to use Creme Cement
Decide the finish before the first batch
Cream and grey do not blend into each other on a wall. Whatever you start a render in, finish it in — and buy enough at once, because tone is the thing most likely to shift between orders.
Keep the sand consistent too
Half the colour of a finished render is the sand. Changing sand halfway through a job moves the tone as surely as changing the cement does.
Follow the bag for the ratio
It varies with the sand and the finish you are after, so no ratio is published here. Read the bag, or bring the details of the render or screed to the counter.
Keep it damp while it cures
Same as grey. Cement gains strength over days and wants moisture to do it, and a render dried out fast in the sun is both weaker and more likely to craze.
When to choose something else
When it is the wrong product
- It is cream, not white. If the specification says white, this will not meet it — that is the Aalborg.
- It is a binder rather than a mix, so the sand, the aggregate and the water are still yours to bring.
- Tone can shift between batches of sand even when the cement does not. Buy the sand for a render job in one go, the same way you buy the cement.
