How many slabs do you need?
Square metres in, slabs out
Measure the area in square metres, then multiply by the figure in the last column. That is the count laid tight, before anything is cut.
Slabs do not go straight onto the ground. They want a bedding layer under them, and what depth of what material depends on whether people or cars are going over the top.

Add about 10% for cuts around edges, curves and anything you have to trim in. Ask at the counter what to bed them on — a path and a driveway are not the same answer.

Where it is going
A pool surround, a courtyard and a path all want different things underfoot. Tell us where the paving is going and what it will be walked on with — bare feet change the conversation.
The size of the space
The 600 x 600 makes a small courtyard look larger because there are fewer joints. The 500 x 250 suits paths and curves, where a big slab means more cutting.
Grey against what
Grey is the neutral. It sits quietly against modern render, dark brick and charcoal window frames. Against warm brick or limestone it can read cold, and creme is the better call — come and look at both.
How you are getting them home
Slabs are heavy and they do not like being stacked badly. Two hours of our trailers are free for smaller loads; for a full patio, truck delivery is the sensible option.

A paved area is mostly what is underneath it. Get that wrong and the surface tells you about it within a season, so these are worth sorting before the slabs come home.
