Planting holes
Straight into the hole around a seedling. Nothing added, nothing mixed, and the plant has food from the moment it goes in.
Raised beds
A raised bed is a container with no soil underneath, so what you fill it with is the entire root zone. A ready-fed open medium is doing all the work.
Containers and pots
Tomatoes in a pot are one of the most demanding things in a garden. This is blended for exactly that.
Topping up between crops
A bag over a bed that has just been cleared, worked in before the next lot goes down.
How many bags do you need?
A pot, a hole, or a whole bed
Twenty-five litres does more than you would think in a planting hole and less than you would think in a bed. The two cases are worth separating before you buy.
If the answer comes to more than a few bags, ask us — our own Veggie Mix bought loose costs a fraction of the same volume in bags, and it is made in the yard to AS 4419.

Borrow one of our trailers free for two hours to get your load home. No charge, no bond.
Have it delivered
Across Perth's southern suburbs, seven days. For a quote we need the address, how much you need, and anything awkward about access — tight driveways, low branches and side access all change which truck we send. Confirm the current cost when you order.

How to use Veggie & Tomato Growing Mix
Use it straight from the bag
No mixing and nothing to add. Fill the planting hole, the raised bed or the container, and plant into it.
Do not compact it
The open texture is the point. Firm it just enough to hold the plant upright and no more.
Water it in thoroughly
Watering settles the mix around the roots and starts the blood and bone releasing.
Wear gloves and keep it moist
It contains micro-organisms, as any organic mix does. Gloves, avoid breathing the dust, and wash your hands afterwards.
When to choose something else
When it is the wrong product
- By volume the bag is expensive against buying loose. It is the right buy for a pot or a planting hole and the wrong one for a whole bed.
- It is a growing medium, not a soil conditioner. If the bed is full and the soil in it is tired, a manure or a compost dug through is what that needs.
- It contains blood and bone, so keep it away from anything phosphorus-sensitive, and be aware that dogs are extremely interested in freshly dug blood and bone.
- It contains micro-organisms. Gloves, keep the material moist while you work with it, and wash your hands — standard for any organic mix.
