Link Edge Aluminium Garden Edging
A line that stays a line.
Link Edge is an aluminium landscape edging used for lawns, paving, garden beds, bitumen and green roofs. Aluminium is the point of it: light enough to bend into curves and tight angles by hand, and it will not rust, crack or rot the way timber and plastic do. Ring us for the heights and fixing accessories currently in stock.

Real stock, not a swatch. Blended products vary a little batch to batch, so treat these as a guide rather than an exact colour match.

What Link Edge Aluminium Garden Edging suits
What can you use Link Edge Aluminium Garden Edging for?
Lawn and turf edging
The most common use. A physical barrier is the only thing that reliably stops couch and kikuyu running into a bed.
Garden bed borders
Holds mulch in and lawn out. The curves are where aluminium earns its keep — it goes round without cutting.
Paving edge restraint
Pavers laid on sand spread at the edges over time unless something holds them. This is the something.
Bitumen paths and driveways
A named use, and a hard one — a bitumen edge crumbles without restraint, and aluminium will not corrode against it.
How much edging?
Measure the run, then add a little
Edging is bought by length, so the sum is simply the metres of edge you are creating — and around a bed that means the whole perimeter, not the side facing the lawn.
Heights, lengths and fixing accessories vary with stock, so ring us with the run and we will tell you what we can do it in.
| Job | Measure | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| A garden bed | The full perimeter | Curves eat more length than they look like they will. |
| A path or driveway edge | Both sides, if both need it | Bitumen and paving usually want restraint on both. |
| Fixing stakes | Per the profile | Ask at the counter — it varies with the height. |
Sizes, heights and fixing accessories vary with current stock. Ring us with the run length before you plan around a particular height.
Why Link Edge Aluminium Garden Edging
Why choose Link Edge Aluminium Garden Edging?
It bends where steel would not
Straight lines, curves and tight angles from the same profile. That is the practical difference on a garden with curves in it.
It will not rust, crack or rot
Timber rots, plastic goes brittle in a Perth summer, steel rusts. Aluminium does none of those, which is why it outlasts all three.
Light to carry and install
Quick to install with secure fixing options, and light enough that one person can handle a full-length run.
Used by landscapers
Trusted for both domestic and commercial work. It turns up on green roofs, which is about as demanding as edging gets.

Using Link Edge Aluminium Garden Edging
How to use Link Edge Aluminium Garden Edging
Ring first about sizes
Heights and fixing accessories vary with what is in stock. Tell us the run length and what you are edging and we will tell you what we have got.
Set the line before you fix anything
A string line for straights, a hose laid on the ground for curves. Edging follows what you set, permanently, so it is worth an extra ten minutes.
Get the height right against the lawn
Slightly below the mower's cut is the usual answer — high enough to hold mulch back, low enough that the mower rides over rather than into it.
Stake it properly
The fixing stakes are what stop it moving. Skimping on them is why an edge looks straight in March and wandering by spring.
When to choose something else
When it is the wrong product
- Sizes and fixings change with stock. Ring or call in rather than planning a job around a height we may not have today.
- It is a barrier, not a retaining wall. It holds a line and holds mulch back; it does not hold up a level change of any consequence.
- Aluminium bends, and that cuts both ways — it takes curves easily and it will also take a dent from a wheelbarrow.
- For more detailed product specifications, Link Edge publish them at linkedge.com.au.
